Evangeline, a musical and romantic name for this Mint Green with Pink Apple Blossoms Teacup and Saucer pattern by Royal Albert Bone China. On a pale mint green ground, both the Malvern Shape teacup and the saucer have a subtle, embossed drape around the scalloped and fluted rims. Both are decorated with branches of pink apple blossom flowers with enameled dots in a deeper pink. The flowers, accented with green leaves, wind around the cup and saucer and continue over the rim to the inside on the teacup.
This teacup is 2-3/4 inches tall, 3-1/4 to the top of the handle. It is 3-1/2 inches in diameter at the top, and stands on a 1-7/8 inch foot. The matching scalloped saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
The backstamp is the Black Crown Mark with “Royal Albert” arched above an open crown flanked by the words, “Bone China” followed by “England" and the pattern name “Evangeline.” The pattern number 2232 is also hand written on the bottom of the cup.
Evangeline was made by Royal Albert China during the 1940s.
Other than expected shelf wear on the underside of the foot, and very little wear on the gold, there are no condition issues.
