This lovely Royal Stafford Bone China Salad Plate pattern is Berkeley Rose. Five lifelike pink roses with buds and realistic greenery encircle the inner rim of the plate with pale gray leaves backing the rose sprays. Particularly striking is the likeness of a couple of spent blooms showing only the red and yellow stamens. The scalloped rim is trimmed with brushed gold.
This beautiful plate measures 8-1/4 inches in diameter, perfect for dining or display.
It is stamped “Berkeley Rose” in green arching above a small pink rose followed by “Royal Stafford Bone China" with a crown in pink, and "Made in England" in green. There are a couple of artist’s marks in pink and gold. This mark was used by Royal Stafford between 1940 and 1952.
Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with age, there are no condition issues.
