You'll love the charm of this gold decorated sky blue scalloped pottery bowl by the Pearl China Company. Numbered 303, the outside of the bowl has a lacy all over decoration of tiny daisies and vines in 22 Karat gold. The top of the bowl curves inward with large scallops that are also gold-trimmed, and the 3/8-inch foot is also gilded. Bowls of this shape were meant to be used for flowers and are often called a lily, rose, or even gardenia bowl.
This vintage American pottery bowl measures 7 inches in diameter and 3-3/4 inches tall.
The gold backstamp includes the oyster shell and pearl logo with the word "Pearl" written across it. The words "China Co. Hand Decorated 22 KT. Gold/U.S.A." are stamped beneath the shell. The number "303" is also incised into the bottom of the bowl. Pearl China was located in a former Hall China building, and Hall used this same pattern by the name "Mini Fleurette."
This bowl was made by Pearl China Company of Ohio between 1930 and 1958 when the company produced their own items. There are no cracks, crazing, or chips. The bottom of the bowl has dirt smudges, and an old hand-written price in ink.
