Here is one of the more difficult to find vintage head vases of a Lady in Blue wearing a Pearl Necklace and Earring numbered A-173 by Parma. This lovely lady wears a deep peacock-blue bodice with faintly embossed edge trim draped around her neck and trimmed at each shoulder with a three-dimensional bow. She wears a pearl necklace and a pearl drop earring in her left ear, while the right ear is hidden by her fashionable dark blonde hairstyle that is perfectly coiffed into the waved and flipped bouffant of the era. She has perfectly painted, wide open gray eyes with dark eyeliner and delicately painted eyelashes. Her arched eyebrows, blushing cheeks, and ruby red lips complete her makeup.
She is just over 5-inches tall and rests on a 4-inch by 2-1/2 inch base. The opening is approximately 2-1/4 inches by 2-5/8 inches.
Made for Parma by AAI circa the late 1950s to early 1960s, it is stamped A-173 in black on the bottom.
There is all-over non-discolored crazing, but it is very faint. There is a shadow under her right eye that appears to be intentional in the processing. She will need a gentle cleaning, especially inside. It is unusual to find the dark matte finish intact, and there are a few slight scuff marks. A bit of white shows around the bottom edge. She has three blemishes in the form of porcelain bumps, one in her hair, one on her left cheek, and one on the back of her neck at the lower right. There are no chips.
