A spray of large African Daisies in pastel blue and purple adorn the front of this Society Bone China teacup and the left side of the matching saucer. A matching smaller spray of one purple daisy and bud decorates the back of the cup and the right side of the saucer. Realistic green stems and leaves accent the flowers. The scalloped edges of both pieces are gold-trimmed and the foot and handle are gilded as well.
The teacup measures 3-inches tall and 3-3/8 inches in diameter across the fluted and scalloped rim, with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter.
Made by Society Fine Bone China circa the 1980s, both pieces are stamped with the Society blue and green Crown and Shield. The shield reads; “Society/fine bone china/ made in England,” and is topped with a green five-pointed crown.
There is a porcelain bump on the saucer, and the glaze is a bit uneven on the backside of the saucer. Any wear on the gold is truly minimal, and there are no chips or cracks.
The daisy is the flower for April. This set would make a unique gift for an April Birthday!
