Here is a fine quality Royal Albert English Bone China Center Handle Serving Plate in the lovely Moonlight Rose pattern. The pattern is identical to the very popular Old Country Roses, except that the roses are in different shades of blue. On pure white Bone China, the design consists of a spray of three roses in deep blue, powder blue, and dusky blue blushed with pink. The roses blend well together with the aid of the soft green foliage and accompanying rosebuds. Larger and smaller floral sprays alternate around the fluted rim which is finished with 22K brushed gold. The gold-colored center handle has a rounded triangle shape and connects with a screw through the middle of the plate. There is cork or something similar under the screw to protect the bone china of the plate.
Perfect for a tea party, this lovely server is 10-1/2 inches in diameter and 5-inches tall with the handle.
The mark is obscured by the screw on the bottom that holds the drilled handle in place. It is a color miniature of the Blue Roses motif followed by “Moonlight Rose” in curved blue script, then ”Royal Albert/ Bone China/England" in purple and finished with “©1987 Royal Albert Ltd.”
Moonlight Rose was introduced in 1987 and this plate was made no later than 2002 when production of Royal Albert in England ended.
There is sticker residue on the back of the plate, and the darkest rose in the back stamp is marred. As in most vintage pieces, there are normal, small surface scratches, There is no other damage to this wonderful piece.
