This pretty Royal Albert Bone China Shelley shape teacup and saucer is decorated with a multi-color Rose Bouquet motif. The Shelley shape has tapered panels that form a six-pointed star in the center of the saucer alternating with pleated panels that form a scalloped edge. The six tapered panels surround the bottom of the teacup, while the pleated panels encircle the top half of the cup. Roses in several shades of pink and yellow form a multicolor bouquet enhanced with smaller blue and yellow flowers and green foliage to charmingly decorate this set. The floral bouquet forms a swag on the front of the cup, with a smaller variation decorating the back and the inside. Matching bouquets of different sizes decorate the saucer in three places. The scalloped rims, as well as the foot and handle of the cup, are all trimmed in gold.
The teacup is 2-3/4 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches diameter across the top with another inch for the handle, and stands on a 1-5/8 inch foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
Made by Royal Albert China circa 1970 to 1980, both pieces are stamped with a black crown, followed by the words "Royal Albert" in block letters, "Bone China" in script, and "England" in smaller block letters.
There is a tiny nick, commonly called a fleabite, on the handle. It is too small to capture in a photo but can be felt with an index finger as a slight mar in the smoothness when held in the right hand. Wear on the gold, if any, is minimal. There are no other condition issues.
