Gorgeous 22K Gold Culver Glass is offered here in a State of Ohio Cardinal perched on a Buckeye Highball Tumbler. Pictures don't fully capture the vibrant beauty of the rich braided bands of 22-Karat gold that frame the design of the state bird, the cardinal, perched on a branch of the buckeye, the state tree, on both the front and back of the tumbler. The gold-framed bird design is on a frosted ground, with the realistically detailed bird and foliage in gold. Each gilded band is an excellent example of Culver's secret process for layering gold upon gold in distinctive textures creating a graceful geometric design that is classic Culver. The balance of the glass has a textured ripple effect, also distinctively recognizable as Culver. One look and it is easy to see why ornately decorated glassware by Culver has become some of the most sought-after Mid-Century barware.
This highball tumbler measures 5-1/2 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter.
Though it is not marked, this series is one of a series that was made by Culver commemorating places and landmarks circa the 1960s.
There is minor wear on the gold, especially around the rim. There are no other condition issues.
