Offered here are a stunning set of seven of Mid Century Green and 22-Karat Gold Starburst Highball Tumblers by the somewhat obscure Washington Pasinski. Pictures don’t do justice to the vibrant beauty of the layers of 22 Karat gold that form the honeycomb and starburst medallion design on this set of highball glasses! These tumblers make it easy to see why ornately gold-decorated glassware has become some of the most sought-after Mid Century barware. Three rows of hexagons surround each tumbler. Each hexagon of the top and bottom rows are filled with a watery-green glass. The middle row is a ring of medallions of a single textured gold starburst or flower. Matching half-round insets are at each joint of the design at both the top and bottom of this gorgeous gold-on-green Hollywood Regency pattern. Very similar to Culver's secret process for layering gold upon gold in different textures, the green glass is also very like Culver's and would blend well together.
Made circa the 1960s, each tumbler measures 5-5/8 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter.
Though these tumblers are not signed, I have seen identical tumblers that were signed Washington and others signed Pasinski. Information is scarce, but it appears that Washington Pasinski is the name of the designer as well as the company.
Any wear to the gold is extremely minor. One of the tumblers has a 1/2-inch scratch near the top, and there are no other condition issues.
