This historical Illinois State Souvenir Plate was decorated on Harker's Gadroon Edge circa the 1950s. On Harker's scalloped, rope-edged Gadroon shape, this cream-colored plate has a colorful, circular decal depicting Illinois attractions including Starved Rock State Park, the University of Illinois, Lake Michigan-Chicago, Matthiessen State Park, Mississippi Palisades State Park, Pere Marquette State Park, Fort Massac State Park, New Salem State Park - the Lincoln Village, and Springfield - The State Capital - Lincoln Home - Lincoln Tomb.
It has a paper label, shaped like a yellow and red banner, that reads "Eaton's Gift Wares, Du Quoin, Ill." Eaton's Gift Wares was a souvenir shop along Route 51 in Southern Illinois in the 1950s and '60s.
The plate measures 8-5/8 inches in diameter.
There is a 1/4-inch edge chip where one of the scallops (with the gold) has been knocked off, and a feeling of roughness along the right edge although it does not look damaged there.
