This elegant set of four green glass tall sherbets is engraved with a six-petal closed-center floral design. Each of these paneled optic sherbets has a wheel cut decoration of a closed-center cornflower with six circular petals. A narrow vine of five leaves stretches out from either side of the lowest petal, and the bottom-most leaf angles downward on another vine. A single leaf points straight down from the flower while tiny pairs of leaves are scattered between the larger leaves.
Each delicate stemmed sherbet measures 5-1/16 inches tall. The flared bowl is 2-5/8 inches deep and 3-5/8 inches in diameter at the rim. The stem is perched on a 2-3/4 inch diameter foot.
Made circa the 1930s-1940s, there is no mark.
Two of the four each have a small 1-mm edge chip. These sherbets do fluoresce beautifully under black light.
