This special Bone China 5007A Gold and Floral Cabinet Cup and Saucer by Royal Chelsea is absolutely stunning! Both the cup and saucer are extensively adorned with abundant pastel summer bouquets, featuring large pink roses and a frilled yellow poppy. The realistic accent flowers are in shades of blue, purple, white, yellow, and red backed by soft green leaves. The real eye-catcher on this set is the rich brushed gold on the rims, extending to the inside rim of the cup, and on the gilded foot and unusually angled handle. This is a gorgeous display set with no detail left to chance.
The teacup measures just a hair under 3-inches tall and 3-inches in diameter across the slightly flared rim, with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-13/16-inch gilded foot. The matching saucer is 6 inches in diameter.
Both pieces are stamped in black with the arching "Royal Chelsea" followed by an anchor and the words "English Bone China, Made in England." The pattern number 5007A is hand written in gold on the saucer.
Made by Royal Chelsea between 1943 and 1961, the only sign of age is the expected minor wear on the brushed gold.
