A spray of pretty pink Moss Roses with dark green leaves and stems decorates both the front and the back of this vintage American sugar bowl that is embossed "USA." The rim of the bowl and the rim of the cover are trimmed with a ring of gold.
The style and shape of this little bowl date it to the 1940s or 1950s when family dining was often around a kitchen table rather than in a formal dining room. Many American companies used the USA mark and the Moss Rose decal, making it difficult to determine which company made this bowl.
This sweet sugar bowl measures 3-3/4 inches in diameter, 6 inches across the handles. It is just 2-5/8 inches tall, and about 4 inches with the cover finial.
The only identifying mark is the raised "USA" on the bottom.
There is crazing, with the crazing on the top more visible than that on the bowl., but no chips or cracks.
