Beguiling Sweet Pea blossoms in shades ranging from bubble gum pink to deep rose trail across this Bone China teacup and saucer by Salisbury China, England. The blossoms decorate the front and back of the cup and are opposite each other on the saucer. Wispy tendrils of pink and pastel green leaves accent the flowers. The handle, the swirled and fluted rim of the cup, and the matching scalloped saucer are all trimmed in brushed gold.
The dainty teacup measures 2-1/2 inches tall and 3-1/4 inches in diameter across the top with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-1/2 inch shallow foot. The matching saucer is just under 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
Made by Salisbury during the 1950s, both pieces have the pink underglaze Crown Mark that reads "Sweet Pea, Salisbury, Fine Bone China, Made in England." The pattern number 1883 is hand written in mustard yellow on the cup.
The only flaw on this beautiful set is some minor wear on the gold.
