This adorable little Napco A1370 October Birthday Angel holds a bright black and yellow mask at her waist in front of her. One of her most striking features is her golden halo set off by her gold-lined white hair. There is a pastel pink bow with trailing ribbons on the side of her skirt just below her right arm, and there are additional gold speckles on her gown. The gold-tipped spaghetti trim around her cuffs and hem is particularly endearing. She has a pair of gold-trimmed wings applied to the back, and rosy painted lips and cheeks, with dark painted liner on her blue eyes. A hint of pastel pink can be seen beneath her hem, and the toe of a golden-yellow slipper peeks out. "October Angel” is written in gold script on the front of the base.
This angel figurine is 4-1/2 inches tall, and the base measures approximately 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/8 inches.
Issued by Napco circa the 1950s, the bottom is stamped A1370 and the Napco foil silver label that reads "A Napco Ceramic, Japan" is intact.
There is a small, shallow edge chip on the underside at the bottom left that you can see in the photos. Typically these angel figurines have fine all-over crazing, but I have not found it here, and there is little to no gold or paint loss. Spaghetti hair is almost always damaged, but this too is minimal. The nooks and crannies will require more careful cleaning. I will leave that to you so that I don’t cause any further damage to the delicate spaghetti.
