On the pretty Montrose shape, here is a Royal Albert Bone China Teacup and Saucer decorated with Burgundy Red Roses. Arrangements of beautiful wine red roses accented with smaller tight buds and variegated deep green leaves are on both the front and back of the teacup. Light gray, airy ferns accent the flowers. A matching blossom with foliage is inside the top edge. The saucer has three matching arrangements, one larger than the other two and covering about 1/3 of the left side of the saucer rim. Both the fluted cup and saucer are trimmed with gold on the edge, and the cup foot and handle are also trimmed in gold.
This Bone China cup is 2-3/4 inches tall on a 1-7/8 inch diameter foot. The handle is about another 1/2-inch above the rim. It is 3-1/2 inches in diameter with another inch for the handle. The matching saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter and turns up to be about 1-inch deep.
The back stamp is a black crown, followed by the words "Royal Albert" in block letters, "Bone China" in script, and "England" in smaller block letters. This mark was used by Royal Albert China circa the 1970s and 1980s.
There is a small, shallow edge nick on the back of the saucer at the 10 O’Clock position with the large spray on the left, and there is a slight wrinkle in the glaze there as well. The gold is intact. The gold on the edges is somewhat “bumpy” as though it was brushed on. There are no other condition issues.
