I'm excited to offer you this hard to find Cambridge Glass Seashell Crown Tuscan Nautilus Shell large Footed Vase! This gorgeous translucent glass is in the palest peachy pink called Crown Tuscan by Cambridge Glass. The glass shades to almost white at the outermost knob of the spiral and where the foot is joined to the vase. From the Seashell Line, the vase is shaped like a large snail shell and is truly a piece of magnificent art on its own. The edge of the opening has been allowed to fold gently inward adding a little more artistic flair. This large vase was listed in a Cambridge Catalog as Number 42, a "Flower Center." This is an unusual and hard to find piece of vintage Cambridge.
This stunning vase measures 8-1/2 inches tall and approximately 7-1/2 inches wide by 7-1/2 inches long. The opening is about 5-inches by 5-inches, and the circular foot is 5-1/4 inches in diameter.
Crown Tuscan was made by Cambridge from 1932 to 1958. There is no mark.
This beautiful piece has only a handful of minor manufacturing flaws. Just to the left of the raised spiral there are a couple of small dimples in the glass, and there is a speck of a dark inclusion down inside. There are also three small dark spots on the ring connector that joins the vase to the foot. These may clean off. There are no chips or cracks.
What a conversation piece for your tablescape!
