Patterned after a beloved design of centuries ago, this Aynsley Bone China Egg Shaped Box decorated with the Pembroke Bird Motif stands out in vivid Imari Colors. The bright and stunning Pembroke design in shiny textured enamel on a white ground covers the top of the box. The pattern features a bright blue and yellow kingfisher bird among flowering tree branches. Large blossoms in blues, pinks, and reds are accented with leaves in varying greens and blues. Matching blossoms, in pink and blue, dot the bottom half of the box in four places. The rim on the cover of the box is edged with gold.
This egg-shaped box measures 4-1/4 inches long by 3-inches wide. The bottom is 1-3/8 inches deep, and it is 2-3/4 inches tall with the cover on.
The backstamp is a green crown flanked by “Est. 1775” above the Aynsley Banner, followed by “Made in England Fine English Bone China.” This mark was used by Aynsley from 1960 to 1972. "Reproduction of an Eighteenth Century Aynsley Design" is stamped in gold beneath the mark. Though some sources state that this pattern continued in production into the 2000s, Aynsley was taken over by Belleek in 1997.
There is some stubborn sticker residue on the side that can be seen under black light but is nearly invisible to the naked eye.
There are no other condition issues.
