This green Royal Paisley Chintz Crescent Salad Plate from Arnart Creations, Japan, comes just in time for spring! The all-over green paisley chintz motif covers the inside of the dish. It is an enthralling design of flowers and paisley scrolls in shades ranging from pale sea green to forest green with rust brown vines and foliage, and a touch of black for a dramatic accent. The scalloped rim is gold trimmed.
This dish measures 8-inches across the points, 3-1/2 inches wide at the center, and 1-inch deep. Larger than the typical bone dish, this dish can easily accommodate a small salad or another side dish.
From Arnart Creations, Japan, circa the 1950s to 1970s, it is stamped in gold with the Arnart crown, ®, and the words “Royal Paisley, Arnart 5th Ave. 1645M.” Arnart Creations was actually an importer based in New York City. Though their designs were meant to look like their finer European counterparts and garner a part of that market, Arnart pieces are becoming collectible in their own right.
There is some minor wear in the design from normal use, but there are no other condition issues.
