In patriotic deep red, here is a stunning Fenton Glass Bicentennial Eagle Paperweight. In limited production only for the Bicentennial year in 1976, the majestic eagle poses with outstretched wings and his head turned to the right on the circular base of this heavy paperweight. The beautiful opaque red has a few lighter swirls characteristic of slag glass, particularly visible on the circular base.
This extraordinary paperweight measures 3-3/4 inches tall and 4-inches in diameter at the base.
Made by Fenton for 1976, it is fully embossed on the bottom with the words “1776.American Bicentennial.1976” encircling an imprinted starburst design in the center. The embossed Fenton logo followed by two five-pointed stars completes the mark. The black and gold "worker" paper label is attached to the outside and is completely intact. It reads “Authentic Fenton Handmade.”
There are no condition issues.
