This stunning Bone China Teacup and Saucer is Royal Tuscan's Green Paisley pattern #D3267. The all-over green paisley chintz motif covers both the outside of the cup and the saucer. It is a spellbinding design of flowers, foliage, and paisley scrolls in shades ranging from pale sea green to emerald to forest green with a touch of black for a dramatic accent. The rim of the teacup, the curled handle, the base of the cup, and the rims of both the foot of the cup and the saucer are gold trimmed.
The subtly fluted cup is 3-inches tall and 3-1/2 inches in diameter at the rim, resting on a 2-inch diameter foot. The matching scalloped saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
It is stamped with an oval mark consisting of the green underglaze winged crown with the words “Royal Tuscan/Made in England” arched above and “Fine Bone China" below, followed by the words “Member of the Wedgwood Group.” The pattern name, “Green Paisley” in script completes the mark on the cup, while the saucer also has a number “D3267” hand painted in gold. This mark was used by the Wedgwood Group for Royal Tuscan from 1967 to 1977.
There is a small 1/4-inch mark of extra color under the glaze along the backside edge of the saucer, and a small glaze slip along the edge about 1-1/2 inches to the left of that. Other than normal, small surface scratches that virtually disappear in this ornate design, and very minor wear on the gold, there are no other condition issues.
