Here is an unusual green and gold Bone China Boy Scouts teacup and saucer by Paragon, England. Bright, emerald green triangular medallions serve as backdrop for the familiar three-pronged Boy Scout Emblem in beautiful gold on white. Each medallion is framed in gold, with a gold-edged rippling ribbon forming the sides and bottom of the triangle-like shape. The word “Boy Scouts” is in the center of the ribbon. The cup has four of the Boy Scouts medallions circling the inside, while the saucer has five. The outside of the cup is ringed with a narrow band of gold. The foot, handle, and the scalloped rims of both pieces are also gold-trimmed.
The teacup measures 2-1/4 inches tall and 4-1/8 inches in diameter across the scalloped rim with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-7/8 inch foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
The gold and red Royal Arms backstamp reads: "By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen/ China Potters/ Paragon/ Fine Bone China/ Made in England Reg'd." This mark was used by Paragon from 1960 until about 1963.
