This Bone China Blue Paisley Chintz Open Sugar and Creamer, #1445 by Royal Standard will be a charming addition to your table. The all-over blue paisley chintz motif covers the outside of both the creamer and sugar. It is a mesmerizing design of flowers and paisley scrolls in shades ranging from pale to medium blue to bright royal blue with a touch of black for a dramatic accent. The color most closely matches the medium blue paisley cup and saucer set also listed at Maggie Belle's Memories. The rims of both fluted pieces, the high, curled handle, and the circular foot of each are gold trimmed.
The creamer is 3-1/4-inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter. It is 4-inches across the handle and spout. The matching open sugar measures 4-inches in diameter and 2-inches deep on a 2-1/4 inch foot.
The underglaze back stamp on the creamer is a green crown followed by the words "Royal Standard Fine Bone China England.” The sugar has the matching crown mark, but the rest of the stamp has run together into a single illegible line. This mark was used by Royal Standard from 1949 to 1966 before the company became part of Royal Doulton in 1969.
