Here is a diminutive Old Foley #4040 Individual Sugar and Creamer decorated with roses by James Kent, England. Numbered 4040 the pattern is a motif of a pair of deep pink roses accented with buds and small blue flowers that wraps around both the sugar and creamer. The florals are backed with deep green leaves and tendrils. The rims of both pieces and the handle of the creamer are edged in brushed gold.
The sugar measures 1-1/4 inches tall and 2-1/4 inches in diameter. The matching creamer is 2-inches tall and 2-inches in diameter. It is 3-inches across the handle and spout.
It is stamped in gold script "Old Foley," followed by "James Kent, Ltd., Staffordshire, Made in England, 4040." This mark was used by James Kent, Ltd. circa 1955 through the 1960s.
Other than non-discolored crazing and wear on the bottom from sitting on the shelf, there are no condition issues.
