Here is a pretty floral Bone China Teacup and Saucer in the Bridal Rose pattern by Hammersley, England. Reminiscent of a cottage garden, a detailed floral design with lavish greenery bursts around the rim of the saucer in shades of pink, blue, purple, and yellow. The same motif covers the outside of the cup. A spray of pink florals from the design is repeated on the inside of the cup. The scalloped rims, as well as the foot and fancy handle, are trimmed in emerald green.
The quatrefoil shaped cup is 3-3/4 inches in diameter and 2-3/4 inches tall; the foot of the cup is 2-1/8 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter.
The pink underglaze backstamp is a crown with two oak leaves and an acorn growing out of the top, with the words: "Bridal Rose" arched above, "Bone China," flanking the crown, and "by Hammersley" (in script) below. "Made in England" under the script Hammersley completes the mark. This mark was used by Hammersley as early as 1939.
There is a 3/8-inch chip on the bottom edge of the foot. The inside of the cup is discolored as though stained from tea, and the bottom of the foot shows wear.
