You won't want to miss this stunningly opulent 24K gold encrusted oval dish by the J.H. Stouffer Company! Decorated in the Poppy and Forget-Me-Not pattern, an all-over gold encrusted motif of etched poppies entwine and sway with smaller five-petaled forget-me-nots on the interior of the dish. The rim, with raised, closed handles, and the back of the dish are also gilded with smooth gold. A 1932-33 catalog reprint of Poppy and Forget-Me-Not items depicted in Alan Reed's Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China (p. 282) is testament that the finish is 24K gold.
This shallow oval dish measures 6-3/8 inches by 4-1/2 inches. It is 1-1/4 inch deep. It is marked with a gold circle around the words "Stouffer China." This mark was used by Stouffer from 1930-1942.
Showing only minor wear on the gold, this AOG dish will be as lovely on a vanity as on a buffet with sweet treats.
