This Pennsylvania collector plate with a lavishly encrusted gold rim was decorated by Sabin's Industries. The Crown O' Gold line is recognized by the richly gold encrusted embossed rim framing famous Pennsylvania landmarks, characters, and a map of the Keystone State in full color. The Landmarks include Independence Hall, Valley Forge, the Ben Franklin Memorial, the Liberty Bell, William Penn Statue, The Christ Church ("Washington and Franklin attended here,") Mark of the Confederacy, and the Art Museum.
The backstamp in Gold is a large Crown and Circle with the words "Crown O Gold Encrusted ©Sabin's/Warranted 22K Gold" follow by "Made in U.S.A." This mark was used by Sabin Industries, McKeesport, PA between 1946 and circa 1963, when the company was sold to Mt. Clemens Pottery. Sabin Industries was a decorating company and did not produce china.
This fun vintage collector plate of the state of Pennsylvania measures 9-1/8 inches in diameter.
The only sign of age is non-discolored crazing and wear and surface scratches on the gold, which is still shiny bright.
