Blue Ridge is beloved for its vivid, hand painted designs, and you can almost taste the apples on this Autumn Apple platter. This Southern Potteries "Autumn Apple" Platter was made sometime before 1957 when the factory ceased manufacture. The pattern, "Autumn Apple," features deep brown branches of one or two ripe, red apples alternating around the inner rim. Summer green leaves still cling to each branch. The brush strokes are clearly visible in this hand painted design ,and the fluted rim is dotted with a paler red at the tip of every other panel.
This unmarked sturdy pottery serving platter measures 11-3/4 inches by 9 inches.
There is a small glaze pop on one of the flutes, and otherwise only the expected surface scratches and some wear on the backside.
