What good fortune to find this set of six Ultramarine Swirl Depression Glass Berry Bowls by Jeannette Glass! Also known as “Petal Swirl,” Swirl is a pretty depression glass pattern of wide, slightly S-shaped panels that swirl toward the left as you look at the outside of the bowl, and of course to the right when looking into the bowl. The swirled panels form a slightly ruffled edge to the flared sides of each bowl. The bottom of each has a pattern of concentric rings. The real beauty of this pattern is found in the scrumptious teal color called Ultramarine!
Each small bowl measures 5-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches deep, 3-inches in diameter across the bottom. This size is equally perfect for a serving of cereal, salad, or strawberry shortcake!
Made by Jeannette for only two years, 1937 and 1938, there is no mark.
Other than minimal expected minor surface scratches, and the common flaws characteristic of Depression Era Glass, such as bubbles, creases, or other irregularities in the glass, there is no damage.
Match these up with the large salad bowl also listed at Maggie Belle's for a wonderful summer set!
