Offered here is the pretty Florentine or Poppy No. 2 green depression glass 4-1/2 inch berry bowl by Hazel-Atlas. The pattern, commonly known as Poppy, though its official name is Florentine, is an all over swirling poppy motif molded into the glass. An all-over pattern of scrolling stylized poppy flowers and intertwined vines covers the outside of this transparent green bowl. A medallion of the motif is repeated in the center bottom of the bowl. Florentine Number 2 is characterized by round pieces, rather than the angled pieces of Florentine Number 1.
This small bowl measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches deep.
This unmarked pattern was made by Hazel-Atlas from 1932 to 1935.
As is common in vintage glassware, there are expected minor surface scratches. There is also a 1/4-inch flaw in the bottom of the bowl that resembles a wrinkle and can be felt. It is difficult to photograph but can be seen in the close-up of the bottom of the bowl.
