Offered for your consideration is this Tranquillity Teacup and Saucer by Royal Albert Bone China. Tranquility is a serene pattern of gray, scrolling framework around floral sprays consisting of a trio of pink roses surrounded by appropriate greenery and trailing blue flowers. The scalloped and fluted Gainesborough shape teacup is decorated with the rose motif on the front, back, and inside. An echo of the larger bouquet with a single rose is on each side of the handle and one more is opposite on the other side of the cup. The saucer is similarly decorated with large and small bouquets alternating around the rim with the soft gray scrolls separating them. Both the saucer and the foot of the cup also have embossed scrolls around the rim. The scalloped rims, as well as the foot and handle of the cup, are all trimmed in gold.
The teacup is 2-7/8 inches tall on a 1-7/8 inch diameter foot. It is 3-1/2 inches in diameter with another inch for the handle. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter and about 1-inch deep.
Both pieces are stamped "Royal Albert" in deep pink, topped by a miniature of the rose motif on the cup and saucer, followed by “Bone China, England“ in green and the pattern name, “Tranquillity,” in pale purple.
Tranquilllity was made by Royal Albert from 1969 to 2001.
Other than expected shelf wear on the underside of the foot, there are no condition issues.
