Here is a Royal Albert Bone China Teacup and Saucer made exclusively for the Hudson's Bay Company. A detailed and pretty scene of the Lion’s Gate Bridge of Canada is depicted in realistic colors, featuring tall green pines, the blues of the water, and the purples of the mountains in the background on this Hampton-shaped teacup and saucer. The famous sculpted lions are shown at the entrance to the bridge. Clusters of white dogwood flowers on beds of green leaves ring the saucer rim, and a matching pair of dogwood blossoms decorates the back of the cup, The scalloped rims, as well as the foot and handle of the cup, are all trimmed in gold.
The Hampton shaped teacup is 3-1/2 inches in diameter, 4-1/4 with the handle, and 2-7/8 inches tall. The matching saucer is just over 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
Both pieces are stamped with a black crown, followed by the words "Royal Albert" in block letters, " Bone China" in script, and "England" in smaller block letters. “Made Expressly for the Hudson’s Bay Company” completes the mark.
This design was made by Royal Albert China circa the 1950s.
There is a tiny, pinhead-sized nick just below the gold rim of the cup that is too small to show in a photograph. Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with use, there are no other condition issues.
