This Royal Standard Bone China #1445 Royal Blue Paisley Chintz Teacup and Saucer is one of three in slightly different blues offered at Maggie Belle's Memories. The all-over Royal blue paisley chintz motif covers both the outside of the cup and the saucer. It is a mesmerizing design of flowers and paisley scrolls in shades ranging from pale to medium blue to bright royal blue with a touch of black for a dramatic accent. The rim of the fluted cup, the high, curled handle, the base of the cup, and the scalloped rims of both the foot and the saucer are gold trimmed.
There are three #1445 Blue Paisley cups and saucers listed separately due to their distinct color variations. This is the medium blue of the three.
The dainty cup is 3-inches tall, 3-3/8 at the top of the handle, and 3-3/8 inch diameter at the fluted rim, 1-7/8 inch diameter scalloped foot. The matching saucer is 5-5/8 inch diameter.
The underglaze back stamp is a green crown followed by the words "Royal Standard Fine Bone China England.” The pattern number, 1445, (with an additional illegible letter) is also on the foot of the cup in black. This mark was used by Royal Standard from 1949 to 1966 before the company became part of Royal Doulton in 1969.
Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with use, there are no condition issues.
