Offered here is a stunning gilded rim, Black and White Lily, Teacup and Saucer, number 4860/A by Rosina Bone China, England. A wide chintz-like band (about 1-3/4 inches) of large white lilies with prolific pink buds and green leaves pop on the black background of this gorgeous set. The centers of the lilies are accented with yellow and a touch of green. The scalloped rim of the cup is edged with a double band of gold that extends 1/4-inch down the inside top. The handle and foot are also gilded, and the cup ring and scalloped rim of the saucer are also gold trimmed.
The bone china cup measures 3-3/8 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches tall. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter. Both pieces are stamped with the Black Crown back stamp with "Rosina" arched above and "Bone China/Made in England" below. The pattern number "4860" is included in the stamp and the letter A is hand written in gold. This mark dates to as early as 1952.
Other than minor wear on the gold, particularly on the handle, consistent with use, there are no condition issues.
