Offered here is the "March's Daffodil" Teacup and Saucer by Tuscan Bone China, England. March's Daffodil, from the Birthday Flowers series, features panels of a sky blue and white lattice and flower design alternating with bunches of lifelike daffodils. The front of the cup has two yellow daffodils in full bloom accented with buds and green leaves, with a matching single daffodil on the back and a daffodil that is about to open on the inside. The saucer has the same three daffodil motifs around the rim. The rims of both pieces are edged in gold, and the foot of the cup has two gold bands. The handle of the cup is also gilded.
This delicate teacup is 3-3/8 inches in diameter and just shy of 2-7/8 inches tall. The foot of the cup is 1-7/8 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
Made by Tuscan between 1947 and 1970, both pieces are stamped with Tuscan's Green underglaze winged crown with the words "Tuscan Fine English Bone China" and "Made in England." "Birthday Flowers" is in pink script above the mark, and a tiny daffodil in full color is below. The saucer also has the pattern name "March's Daffodil" and the number D1097 in gold.
There is wear on the gold rim and handle consistent with use, and no other condition issues.
