You'll love the flowing shades of deep forest green in this "Petal" vintage covered sugar bowl from Mount Clemens Pottery! Made in Mount Clemens, Michigan circa the 1930's or 1940's, this dark green covered sugar bowl will add charm to your kitchen. The pattern consists of a wide, embossed petal pattern around the rim of the lid and of the bowl. The bowl has Mt. Clemens' characteristic high handles and a pointed finial on the cover. The rich, deep green color is lighter on the raised embossed places and has flowed very dark into the lower places such as between the petals.
This covered sugar bowl measures 5-inches in diameter at its widest near the top, and 2-1/2 inches across the foot. It is about 6-1/4 inches across the handles. The bowl alone stands 3-inches deep. The 3-1/2 inch diameter lid adds another 2-1/4 inches to the height, bringing the total height to 5-1/4 inches.
It is marked simply with "U.S.A." embossed on the bottom of the bowl.
Other than nondiscolored crazing, there is no damage. The crazing is more easily seen in the pictures than to the naked eye on this dark color and is not highly visible except in bright light.
