With the look of an exquisite hand painted motif, this Schumann Wild Rose plate is large enough for use as a platter, but so pretty you will want to keep it on display! The Wild Rose design is dominated by a romantic cluster of open roses in shades ranging from the palest pink to a deep rose in partially opened blossoms. The foliage and stems are in lifelike shades of green. Three of the leaf triplets are gilded, and there are trailing gold vines in the background. The embossed and scalloped rim is dotted with three matching rosebuds and rimmed with gold. All of this is backed by a softly blended ground of muted peach blush and aqua shading.
This Schumann Bavaria Wild Rose Plate measures 11-3/4 inches in diameter.
The backstamp is the dark green Schumann Lion and Crown Shield with "Bavaria" above and "Schumann Arzberg Germany" below dating this plate to the 1960s.
The only condition issue is a couple of very minor surface scratches.
