This "Rose of England" Dessert Plate was made by Hammersley sometime before 1982, when Hammersley's Works closed its doors. This pattern, Rose of England, consists of a spray of five-petal deep pink open roses on a background of emerald green leaves and gray briars trailing down both sides of the rim. The slightly scalloped rim is finished with an edge of gold.
This lovely Bone China plate measures 6-7/8 inches in diameter.
The black backstamp reads "Rose of England Bone China, Made in England by Hammersley," with a crown and leaves.
There is the tiniest (1/8 inch) ding on the backside of the rim that is discolored and slightly rough to the touch, but it is not visible from the front and the gold trim is undamaged.
