This set of four Glades #215 Paden City Ruby Red Glass Wines with Farberware Chrome Stems will be stunning for your holiday entertaining! The rich Ruby Red of elegant Paden City Glass is distinguishable by the higher quality of the glass and by the richness of its red color, often with the telltale amberina shading as seen in the threaded portion of each bowl where it fits down into the Farberware Chrome Stem. The Glades Line, #215, is notable for the ribbed lower portion of each piece and the slightly flared rim.
This set is truly magnificent. There are no chips or cracks and the chrome stems are shiny and bright. All four glass bowls easily unscrew from the stem. (Use care when handling!) The white flecks in the photos are dust particles, ever-present and greatly magnified by the camera.
Each dainty goblet measures 5-inches tall and 3-1/8 inches in diameter at the flared rim. The glass bowl is about 2-inches deep. The chrome foot is 2-1/8 inches in diameter.
Though this red glass is often incorrectly identified as New Martinsville, these were made by Paden City Glass circa 1935. The founder of Paden City Glass Company got his start at New Martinsville Glass. There is no identifying mark on either the glass or the chrome.
What a wonderful Christmas gift these would make!
