This beautiful Coalport Bone China Pink Scrolls and Baskets #5012B Teacup and Saucer is covered in mesmerizing detail! The intriguing floral basket and scroll pattern on this fine quality set features intricately detailed deep pink flower garlands entwined with crescent shapes joining hanging baskets spilling over with flowers. The garlands drip with tassels of flowers that reach toward the center of the saucer where a triangular matching medallion rests. The inside of the cup also has the triangular medallion in the bottom and a single flower garland around the scalloped rim. The scalloped rims of both the cup and the saucer, as well as the foot and the handle of the teacup, are trimmed with gold.
The teacup measures 2-inches tall, 2-3/4 to the top of the handle, and 3-7/8 inches in diameter across the scalloped rim with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 2-inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter.
The cup is stamped in pink underglaze with the Coalport crown with the words "Coalport Bone China, Made in England 1750." There is a small artist's mark in gold. The saucer has the same crown mark. There is also an illegible incised mark on the saucer. This mark was used by Coalport from post-WWII until about 1960.
The cup "pings" beautifully. Any wear on the gold is truly minimal. There are no other condition issues.
The same pattern in Cobalt Blue is 5012A and can also be found in my shop. This pattern is more difficult to find in pink.
