Offered for your consideration is this stunning set of four Imperial El Tabique De Oro Gold Highball Tumblers. The quality of Imperial glass is readily apparent in the gorgeous raised oval and grid repeating design named El Tabique De Oro. The effect becomes a series of tessellating ovals and crosses molded into the glass and luxuriously coated with 22-karat gold. Each piece has a 1/4-inch band of gold around the top and a slightly narrower band around the bottom.
Each tumbler measures 5-3/4 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter.
Made by Imperial Glass sometime during the 1960s and early 1970s, each is marked with the embossed Imperial IG mark, the I superimposed over the G.
As is common in vintage barware with gold overlay, there is some degree of minor wear on each of the tumblers, particularly around the rim. Most of this is not highly noticeable and the beauty of each piece still remains. One tumbler shows significantly more wear on the rim than the others and is pictured in close-up, though to be fair, some of the dark spots in the other photos are only shadows. The only damage to any of the tumblers is an 1/8-inch nick in the raised gold of one of the ovals, as though the glass was knocked against something. The gold is still there, but the area will catch your fingernail. It virtually disappears within the overall design of the glass. A close-up detail is pictured.
This opulent set is perfect for entertaining in style! Please note, two sets of four are available.
