Royal Stafford created this gorgeous Bone China Footed Teacup and Saucer covered in Berries and Gold Leaves and named the pattern Golden Bramble. Another Royal Stafford teacup designed for those with discriminating taste, this lavishly decorated cup and saucer set features plump, ripe blackberries trailing on the vine. Interspersed with realistic berries yet to ripen, the plum purples of the ripe berries blend perfectly with the pale greens and pinks of the ripening berries. The vines are accented with leaves in satiny gold. The design circles the outside of the teacup and the rim of the saucer. A matching berry motif decorates the cup well of the saucer.

The cup is fluted around the top and bottom of its straight sides to match the fluted rim of the saucer. The foot of the cup is gilded, the handle is gold decorated, and the scalloped rims of both the cup and the saucer are also gold-trimmed.

This elegant teacup measures 2-3/4 inches tall and 3-1/4 inches in diameter at the scalloped rim. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.

Both pieces are stamped with the pattern name “Golden Bramble” in gold, followed by a crown and the words “Royal Stafford Bone China Made in England Est. 1845.” This mark was used by Royal Stafford China circa the 1950s. Through several mergers over its more than 150-year history, the new Royal Stafford was formed in 1992 and is still in business today, however, the Golden Bramble pattern has not been in production for some time.

There is an irregular porcelain bump on the scalloped rim that feels slightly rough. This is undoubtedly a manufacturing flaw as it is raised above the rim. One of the blackberries on the saucer has a white spot with a dollop of purple on the end, as though the flower has just dropped off. This looks like part of the design rather than a flaw but is not present on the other berries. Aside from a few insignificant utensil marks, there are no other condition issues.
