This Bone China Forget-Me-Not Small Oval Plate by Paragon was originally made to be used as a tray for the sugar and creamer. This small plate by itself is perfect for pickles, olives, or sweet treats for the table. Sprays of dainty blue and light purple forget-me-not flowers decorate the rim and spill onto the surface of the plate in four places. Each spray of abundant blossoms stretches and curls on delicate green stems with green leaves. The scalloped rim is subtly fluted with narrow pleats and trimmed with a gold edge.
The tray measures 8-1/2 inches long by 5-1/2 inches wide and the scalloped rim rises 1-inch off of the table.
Made by Paragon circa the 1960s to 1970s, the gold and red lion and unicorn Royal Arms backstamp reads: "By Appointment To Her Majesty The Queen, China Potters, Paragon, Fine Bone China, England Regd. L/L” (A Royal Warrant was issued by the Queen in the 1930s.) The mark is finished with a color miniature of the Forget-Me-Not motif.
As in most vintage pieces, there are normal, small surface scratches. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing to this exquisite plate.
