The beautiful and popular Lady Hamilton by Royal Albert Bone China is offered here in the Sugar and Creamer set. Burgundy red panels trimmed with golden yellow scrolls wrap around each piece and frame multicolor floral arrangements centered with a pink rose and a large yellow flower. A geometric band with matching golden yellow trim and tiny burgundy flowers tops the panel just below the scalloped rims of each piece. The handle, scalloped rims, and feet are all trimmed with gold.
The sweet little creamer is 3-1/4 inches tall, 3-1/2 to the top of the handle. It measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter, 3-3/4 inches across the handle and spout, on a 1-3/4 inch foot. The matching sugar is 2-1/8 inches tall by 3-1/4 inches in diameter on a 2-inch diameter foot.
Both pieces are marked with the Royal Albert Flared Crown back stamp. The words Bone China flank the crown, with Royal Albert above and England below. “Lady Hamilton” is written in pink script and “Regd. No. 832394” completes the mark. There are a couple of artist’s marks on the creamer, and the pink script is smudged on the sugar. This mark was used by Royal Albert China from 1945 into the 1950s, so these are older pieces of this popular pattern that remained in production from the 1930s to 1981.
Other than minor, if any, wear on the gold rim consistent with age, there are no condition issues.
