Offered here is the pretty Glendale Teacup and Saucer by Royal Stafford Bone China, England. The Glendale pattern features a field of flowers growing in bands around the rims of the cup and saucer. From the top of the cup and the outside edge of the saucer, a band of tall blue five-petaled flowers on straight, green leafed stems gives way to a band of tiny yellow blossoms backed by purple, topped by a final band of light violet dots of blossoms. The rims of both pieces are gold trimmed, as are the cup ring on the saucer and the handle of the cup. The foot of the cup has two gold bands.
This pretty teacup measures 2-5/8 inches tall and 3-1/4 inches in diameter at the rim. It stands on a 1-5/8 inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
Made by Royal Stafford circa the 1940s to 1950s, the backstamp reads "Glendale" in green script, followed by "Royal Stafford Bone China" in pink, and "Made in England" in yellow. There are also gold artist's marks on both pieces.
Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with use, there are no condition issues.
