Another beautiful example of Bone China by John Aynsley is this embossed, number C511, floral teacup and saucer in a delicious shade of coral! Embossed with plumes and scrolls, the cup is subtly quatrefoil-shaped with an unusually shaped double scroll handle. The exterior is covered in a pretty glaze of solid coral color, a little softer than a true orange, while the interior has a multicolor rose floral design near the top. Both the cup and the matching saucer are scalloped and trimmed with gold, as are the foot and the handle. Some of the photos look more orange than coral, but this set is in a softer hue than the photos may indicate.

The lovely teacup measures 2-5/8 inches tall and 3-3/8 inches in diameter across the top, 4-inches with the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter and about an inch deep.

The back stamp is the green crown above the Aynsley Banner, followed by "England." The words "Bone China" flank the crown. This mark was used by Aynsley from 1934 to 1939. The pattern number C511 is also on the cup.

There is a pinpoint sized glaze slip on the handle, done in the manufacturing process, that is felt rather than seen. The gold is undisturbed, and shows minimal, if any, wear on either piece. There are no other condition issues.
