Offered for your consideration is this Hall China Ball Jug #3 Pitcher with Ice Lip in beautiful Cadet Blue. The ball jug is nearly spherical, and is a solid color in the heavenly, glossy blue glaze called Cadet Blue. The handle and spout with the ice lip are all part of the mold and not applied separately.
This vintage jug measures 7-inches tall at the handle and about 7-inches in diameter at the widest part of the ball shape. It stands on a 4-inch diameter foot ring.
The back stamp is a black circle with the word "Hall" enclosed and "Made in U.S.A." below, follow by the number 633. This shape pitcher was introduced by Hall China in 1938, and this mark was used into the 1960s.
There are a series of small chips around the lip. There are two along the outside, the largest is 1/8-inch. There are four smaller ones along the inside ring of the spout, with another old, 1/8-inch chip at the inside center. These are shown magnified in the photos. This is a wonderful vintage piece for display, or to use as a vase. The condition is reflected in the price.
