This charming swirled porcelain teapot by Sadler England is decorated with a beautiful floral band and numbered 3893. A multicolored garland of summer flowers including pink roses, deep blue asters, and purple berries, backed by appropriate greenery, rings the top of the swirled, creamy white teapot. Matching florals cover the cover of the teapot. The handle, spout, foot, and the sweet finial are all trimmed in gold. The inside of the pot has strainer holes leading into the pouring spout. The lid fits into the top with its unique flat-sided shape, and is held in place with a small hook. The cover also has a hole for venting.
This lovely British teapot measure 5-inches tall, 6-7/8 with the cover and finial, and 5-3/4 inches in diameter, 9-inches across the spout and handle.
Made by Sadler sometime between the 1950s and 1995, the embossed mark reads "Sadler England" around the circular foot ring. It is also stamped with the blue Sadler Ribbon and Crown Mark that reads "Sadler, Made in England." There is a gold hand-written pattern number 3893, and a few incised marks on the bottom.
There is a bit of glue residue on the bottom from an old sticker. There are no other condition issues.
