This sleek mid-century glass Cream and Sugar and Tray was made by Fostoria for their Seascape line in the blue opalescent color they called Caribee Blue. The Caribee Blue color is a beautiful sky blue opalescent shade that nearly glows with the reflection of light.
Seascape was made in unmistakably Mid Century Modern shapes with sweeping curved lines. Like a piece of sea glass sculpted by the waves, this three-piece set is fluid with slopes and curves. The kidney-shaped tray sweeps up at the inside curve to form a handle. Directly from Fostoria's Contour Line, the cream and sugar also have the undulating lines with unique handles that bend at a near 90-degree angle.
The tray of this radiant set measures 7-3/8 inches long and 4 inches wide. It is 1-1/4 inches high at the inside curve which forms a closed handle. The creamer measures 3 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches wide across the top. It is 4-3/4 inches across the handle and spout. The ground and polished foot is 1-1/2 inches in diameter. The sugar measures 2-3/8 inches tall and 3-1/8 inches wide, 5 inches across the handles.
This unmarked pattern was made by Fostoria from 1954 to 1958. The pearly opalescence is much lovelier than the photos can depict. The last photo shows this glowing color in direct sunlight.
There is a dark smudge on one side of the creamer that does not come off and seems to be inside of the glass. There is also a dark line on the underside of the tray. Both can be seen in the photos. There are no other condition issues.
