This early 1900s Elite Works Limoges Green and Gold Filigree Nut Dish by Bawo & Dotter is absolutely stunning! A deep green garland with four victory laurel wreaths rings the inside of the bowl. The garland and wreaths have a detailed gold overlay, with each wreath tied at the top with a green and gold bow. The center bottom of the bowl has an intricate six-pointed gold filigree medallion. The deeply scalloped rim is encrusted with a 1/4-inch wide gold band. The applied ring handles are also gold encrusted, and a narrow gold filigree band rings the outside of the dish.
This breathtaking Nut Dish measures 4-7/8 inches in diameter, 6-1/4 across the handles, and 1-3/4 inches deep.
It is marked with the Red "Elite Works" Shield with "Limoges, France" below. A green "Elite L France" is stamped beside the red mark. This mark was used by Bawo and Dotter between 1887 and 1915.
There is minor wear on the gold consistent with age, and there are no other condition issues.
